An exciting and well-rounded curriculum planned for your fiber arts class, incorporating various elements of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) through sewing, crocheting, weaving, and collaborative projects. Incorporating math into sewing and other fiber arts can provide students with a practical understanding of mathematical concepts in a creative and engaging way. Students will be introduced to crocheting & weaving. They will also collaborate with Fine Arts on printing & collage projects.
A work lab is designed to be an engaging and transformative experience. Through movement and music, students will develop cognitive brain function through collaboration and individuality. Students will learn various styles of dance, including jazz, ballet, modern, hip hop, and Latin fusions.
(D&D) is a work lab that uses board games and emphasizes "Game Theory.' Economics' to "Choice Theory" will also be utilized throughout this course. Students will engage in daily board games that exercise their logic and problem-solving skills.
The Theatre Arts work lab is a dynamic program that offers students a chance to explore their creativity through the performing arts. With an impressive selection of shows, students have the opportunity to develop their skills in acting, singing, and dancing while also learning about teamwork and collaboration. Through this work lab, students can build confidence, express themselves, and create memories that will last a lifetime.
Students will be learning the functionality of a DSLR camera, posing techniques, lighting, composition, terminology, composing a picture, and photography marketing. The class will oversee this year’s yearbook, will practice with the camera settings, setting up lighting and backdrops, will be introduced to different types of photography (i.e., portraits, landscape, sports photography, etc.) and will work with established local photographers, as well as take field trips to different locations to put what they have learned into action.
The Digital Arts class will be about learning how to use and create projects in Clip Studio Paint. We will spend half our time learning the different features and tools the program provides and how to use them. The other half of our time will be spent on doing group projects that reflect what work in the industry as a professional artist will be like. By the end of the year, students should understand how to make their own digital illustrations, animations, and comic books using Clip Studio Paint.
The HVAC course offers a comprehensive exploration of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Gain expertise in thermodynamics, refrigeration cycles, electrical systems, HVAC design, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Delve into essential topics like energy efficiency, indoor air quality, and environmental regulations.
The TFASS automotive course focuses on providing students with a comprehensive understanding of automotive technology and repair. The curriculum covers topics such as engine systems, transmission systems, braking systems, electrical systems, fuel systems, suspension systems, and vehicle diagnostics. students learn how to diagnose and repair common issues that arise in vehicles. They gain hands-on experience working with tools and equipment used in automotive repair shops. This includes tools like wrenches, diagnostic scanners, lifts, tire changers, and alignment machines. Practical training is often conducted in fully equipped workshops where students can work on actual vehicles.
Fine arts will focus on the foundational skills needed for creating their own pieces with a specific focus on painting and drawing. We will learn about perspective, color theory, composition and lighting among other necessary skills.
Our aim is to provide a space for would-be artists to develop their own voice in the world. By the end of the semester students will be able to confidently create their own original masterpiece.
